Flurry

Glitter in the air:
Snowflakes dancing in the sun?
Or fairies dancing?

Frosty morning

Heavy frost descends.
Haloes limn sunlit road signs;
Meadows painted white.

Cornfield in winter

A thin mist, sunlit
Blurs the sharp corn stalk edges.
Soft focus on death.

Winter on Planet Georgia

Heavy, wet white flakes,
Turning green pine limbs to white.
Snow swirls on the road.

Christmas senryu

Long string of red lights:
A Christmas decoration?
or traffic at night?

Duck!

Mallards on patrol,
One December afternoon.
A bored hawk watches.

Its seasonal chill.

Disappearing Act

A white church steeple,
Its cross nigh invisible
In a winter sky.
